Edit Speak (with SSML formatting) node

Using the Speak (with SSML formatting) node, you can store messages that the voicebot should output and provide them with SSML support.

For details on adding a VIER node, see Add a VIER node.

How to edit the Speak (with SSML formatting) node:

  1. To make settings for the node, click on the Speak (with SSML formatting) node.
  2. The window with the configuration options opens.
  3. Under General Settings, you have the following configuration options:
  4. Emphasize: Choose whether to emphasize a particular utterance. Choose between strong, moderate and reduced. Enter the message that you want the voicebot to emphasize.
  5. Pause: Choose whether to pause between two utterances. Choose between medium pause, strong pause, extra strong pause, no pause, 0.3 seconds pause and 1 second pause.
  6. Structure: Select whether the voicebot outputs a particular utterance as a paragraph or as a sentence. Enter the message that you want the voicebot to output in a structured way.
  7. Say As: Choose how the voicebot should output a particular utterance. Choose between verbatim, cardinal, ordinal, characters, fraction, unit, time, expletive (beep), and date. Enter the message that you want the voicebot to output appropriately distinguished.
  8. Speech Rate: Specify the speech rate at which the voicebot should output a particular utterance. Choose from slow, medium, fast, 80%, and 125%. Enter the message that you want the voicebot to output at the specified speech rate.
  9. Speech Volume: Specify the speech volume at which the voicebot should output a particular utterance. Choose from low, medium, high, - 6dB, and + 6dB. Enter the message you want the voicebot to output at the specified speech volume.

  11. Phoneme: Enter a term. For this term, the selected text-to-speech service receives instructions on how to pronounce the term.
  12. Audio: Enter an audio source. The text-to-speech service plays the stored audio file.
Tip: To play an audio file, VIER recommends using the Play Audio File node instead.
  13. Voice: Specify which text-to-speech voice is to be used.
  14. NOTICE! Specify the text-to-speech voice exactly as it is designated by the manufacturer.
  15. NOTICE! A text-to-speech fallback to another manufacturer is no longer possible.
  1. To set that the speaker can interrupt the bot by speaking, activate the By speaking switch under Barge-in.
  2. Enter a Confidence Threshold [in percent %].
Tip: The confidence threshold is a threshold value that individual transcribed utterances of the call partner must reach for the bot to be interrupted.
Tip: Recommended values are 70% and higher.
  3. or
To insert the desired value, click on the arrows.
  4. Under Phrase List, enter concrete words or phrases with which the speaker interrupts the bot.
Tip: If you have not entered any words or phrases in the phrase list, any utterance of the call partner will interrupt the bot.
  5. Under Phrase List from Context, enter the key stored in the following nodes under Context Key to store Result:
