Outbound Calls

Initiate Outbound Calls via new Dial endpoint

Initially CVG was made to handle inbound calls only. But some of our customers also want to build ‘Outbound Bots’.

Here are some use case for such outbound bots:

  • Make an appointment for a home visit.

  • Customer acquisition (make sure you are allowed to call your potential customers).

  • Alerting with feedback from the persons called.

To enable these new uses cases a new endpoint has been added to the call API: /call/dial.

This endpoint enables our customers to initiate outgoing calls, which are then handled by the configured bot. Check out of the detailed documentation.

Nuance

New voices from Nuance for German and English

Feel free to use Nuance as synthesizer engine (TTS). We really like the German Voice ‘Petra’.

As for other already available synthesizer engines you may use Speech Synthesis Markup Language (SSML) to control speech generation. For example, you can add pauses and other speech effects.

Currently we made German and English voices of Nuance available. Pleasse contact us, if your project requires Nuance TTS in any other language.
